This is my Uncle Don, my mother’s only brother. Her name was Dorothy Florence Amidon Jensen. When I was a little girl, Uncle Don gave me many different gifts from different places he was stationed at, while in the military. It’s great to see people remembering him & to see a picture of him.
I’m a U.S. Navy researcher who maintains websites for several cruisers from the WWII era. I believe Irving C. Amidon served out a pre-war enlistment in the Navy before re-joining the service in WWII. I would love to speak with any family who could confirm this and verify this picture as the same man. Thank you! You can email me at brentj@mighty90.com
My father until I was 3. Mother – Ruth Walton Amidon Anderson.
